Her visit was part of the Festival's outreach work
The Festival was delighted to take Manjeet into four schools in November. The Costa winning author talked with young people from St Peter’s Exeter, West Exe School, Exmouth Community College and Colyton Grammar inspiring them with her books Run. Rebel and The Crossing. The series explore exclusion and refugees’ stories and the students worked in small workshops around the themes of the books..

“Manjeet taught me that you just have to write from the heart. She was very open about how she writes her books and that she just ‘vomits’ her words onto the page for her first draft.”

“Thank you so much for today’s visit. I have had so much amazing feedback from staff and students about how brilliant the session was so we are all very grateful.”
Charlotte Bean
