Come and join us. This is the heart of the Festival. Over the past years, it has become known as a rendezvous for meeting friends, authors and other Festival visitors, and in our 11th year it will be bigger than ever! It’s a place in which to relax with delicious food and drink, and a venue for browsing the Festival books. Musicians will be playing for you during Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes and during each early evening from Wednesday, 18th September.
Posh Nosh Café
We are delighted that Posh Nosh will be providing the refreshments throughout the day, serving a range of homemade, locally sourced dishes. On offer for light bites will be sandwiches, cakes and scones; for lunch there will be a range of fresh seasonal salads, homemade tarts and occasional special treats!
If you visit the Marquee in the early evening, there will be a different hot dish served daily as an alternative to a variety of tapas dishes, and all to the accompaniment of live music.
For the first time this year tickets will be available for sale at the welcome desk, manned by our cheerful team of volunteers, together with updates and information on Festival events.
Waterstones Pop-Up Shop and Book Signing
The Festival Bookshop will be featuring books by all the authors appearing at the Festival, and it’s here that most of our authors will be signing after their event. (Some authors will be signing at their venue.) Pop in and buy signed copies by any authors whose events you might have missed! (It’s advisable to bring cash – debit and credit cards are accepted but delays can sometimes be caused by unreliable WiFi.)
Black Tor Brewery
Black Tor Brewery of Christow, Dartmoor National Park, will be serving a selection of their cask ales, refreshing cold soft drinks, wine, cider and gin and tonic throughout the day. All drinks will be from local Devon producers.
