Volunteer With Us

Volunteer Stewards and Drivers

Would you like to be involved in helping us stage Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival?

If you enjoy books and meeting new people – then why not volunteer to be part of our festival team?

We’re very lucky to have an incredible army of volunteers who help us stage our autumn and spring festivals – but we always need more. Through people giving their time, we can use our profits for our charitable aims, which are to support and promote a lifelong love of reading for young people living in Devon.

Volunteers are needed for a range of roles and responsibilities, including drivers, hosts and members of the festival hospitality team. We are particularly interested to hear from any recently retired teachers who might be keen to join our education team.

We are very lucky to have a dedicated team of volunteers who give their time so generously and we are very grateful to them. Because of this we can use our festival’s profits to support our charitable aims, which include providing books to children who may not have one and taking authors into our local schools.

You don’t need any particular skills or qualifications, but lots of enthusiasm and an interest in books will always help.”
