Sarah Moss and Salley Vickers

Writing a Life

Available to view from 11am, Saturday 19th September 2020

While some readers crave page-turning excitement, there is a strong market for fiction which focuses on the ordinary lives we all share with their dramas and triumphs. What skills does it take to create this narrative of normal life, that dwells so beautifully on human frailties and characteristics? Sarah Moss is Professor of Creative Writing at Warwick University and award-winning author of six novels including Ghost Wall and, her latest, Summerwater. Salley Vickers is the author of many acclaimed novels. Her latest, Grandmothers, is the story of three very different women and their relationship with the younger generation.
