Mary Colwell and Miriam Darlington

Birds of a Feather

Date: Thursday 20th September 2018
Venue: Temple Church | 2pm
Tickets: £12

We welcome two exceptional nature writers, passionate about their topic, who share with us a love of bird life.

BBC programme maker, Mary Colwell, was recently featured in BBC Wildlife’s UK 50 Top Conservation Heroes Awards. In her latest book, Curlew Moon, she journeys the country and eloquently explores why over the last 20 years numbers in the UK have halved; and with a quarter of the world population breeding in the UK and Ireland, this is nothing short of a disaster.

Local writer Miriam Darlington’s Owl Sense captivates readers as she discovers this night hunter – predator, messenger, emblem of wisdom or portent of doom. She looks at the wild in nature and in the unpredictable course of our human lives, and brings the strangeness and magnificence of these creatures to life.
