Malaika Kegode

Everyone has a story inside them that deserves to be heard. In this workshop for budding young writers, the focus will be on getting those first few ideas in motion and, by the end, you’ll have a brand new piece of writing to take home with you.

Growing up the most (reluctantly) ‘exotic’ girl in a quiet Devon town, Malaika Kegode is a poet and performer who works closely with organisations such as Apples and Snakes, Roundhouse and the BBC, and has performed around the country at theatres, music venues, literary events and festivals. Her debut collection Requite was released by Burning Eye Books in 2017.

Suitable for ages 12 to 18.

Please note, this event is bookable online and your £10 deposit will be returned in cash when you arrive. Students under 18 are left at their own risk and the Festival cannot be responsible for them. We ask you to leave the contact number of a responsible adult in case of emergencies. Numbers strictly limited.
