General Sir Mike Jackson

A Soldier’s Life

Date: Saturday 16th November 2019
Venue: St Peter’s Church, Budleigh Salterton
Time: 6pm – 7pm

Having commanded British forces in Iraq, UN forces in Kosovo and peacekeeping missions in Bosnia, there are few soldiers alive today with as wide an experience of the theatre of war and conflict as General Sir Mike Jackson.

It is a pleasure to welcome the former Chief of the General Staff and Head of the Army, known for his tough talking and uncompromising style and with an experience of modern conflict that includes Bloody Sunday, and as deputy to General Clark, NATO Commander of Europe.

He’ll share the highs and lows of his astonishing career, and his view of an Army today and the government’s failure to equip the country’s soldiers with their most basic needs.
