Philip Ardagh

Primary School Transition Visits

Wednesday 13 September 2017
Sidmouth College and Exmouth Community College.

Winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize for the first in his Grubtown Tales, this enormously tall and bushy-bearded writer will be delighting children with a series of events for the Literary Festival.

A prolific author he is best known for his Eddie Dickens series. His Unlikely Exploits trilogy was serialised for BBC Radio 4. He created The National Trust: The Secret Diary Series, and he is the storyteller behind the popular Grunts series, with illustrations by Axel Scheffler who illustrated the Gruffalo books.

Philip Ardagh’s wonderful world of stories and exciting characters is brought to life to entertain and inspire primary school children at invitation-only events, which will provide younger children with the chance to see a popular author in action at the secondary schools many of them will soon be attending.

Events supported by Exmouth Community College, Colyton Grammar School, the Maynard School, and Exeter School.
