Intensive Care - what will be the legacy of Covid on our communities?
Gavin Francis is a Scottish GP and acclaimed writer, with books including Island Dreams, who counts Hilary Mantel among his many fans. His latest book, Intensive Care, takes a new angle on the pandemic, looking at the impact not just of the virus but also of the measures introduced to tackle it. In doing so, he challenges many of our assumptions about the pandemic’s legacy, offering a fascinating, beautifully written and often surprising account of one of Britain’s most ‘unprecedented’ years in recent history and the impact is has and will have on our lives long after it is over. Talking to Tim Hubbard.
