City of Tears and An Extra Pair of Hands

Venue: Public Hall

16 September 2021 2:00 pm

Kate Mosse is the No 1 international bestselling novelist, playwright and nonfiction writer, best known for her multi-million copy selling Languedoc Trilogy and for her Gothic Fiction, including The Taxidermist’s Daughter, which she is adapting for film and stage. She is also the Founder Director of the (formerly Orange) Women’s Prize for Fiction and Deputy Chair of the Royal National Theatre. Following on from her Sunday Times number one bestseller, The Burning Chambers, Kate joins us to talk about her new book, The City of Tears, a breathtaking novel of revenge, persecution and loss set in France 1572, a country ravaged by a decade of the Wars of Religion, and her book An Extra Pair of Hands, a tender personal reflection on caring for others, the gentle heroism of carers, small everyday acts of tenderness, and finding joy in times of crisis.
