Can we find light, courage and compassion in the face of life and death?
Most of us will never know what it’s like to hold someone’s life in our hands but leading surgeon Shehan Hettiaratchy has spent his career doing exactly that.
Unflinchingly honest, he’ll show us how things can go wrong within a minute and how, when the darkness sets in, he is able to get up and do it all again. His work spans treating victims of the Grenfell fire and the Westminster Bridge attack, the Haiti earthquake and surgical missions to Ukraine and Gaza. He was awarded an OBE in 2025 for his humanitarian work.
“Gripping and inspiring.” BENJAMIN HALL
