How Do We Control the Genie Now it’s Out of The Bottle
It’s not a question of when AI will impact our lives, it is how because AI is already all around us and impacts on our lives in more ways than we realise. But even those who created AI are sounding bells of warning about how we need regulation and control. So how can we control the monster we’ve created and make sure it’s only harnessed for good? Professor Michael Wooldridge is a leader in the AI field. A Professor of Computer Science at the University of Oxford, he is Director of Foundational AI Research at the Alan Turing Institute. Alice Sherwood is the author of Authenticity: Reclaiming Reality in a Counterfeit Culture. She is currently a non-executive director of Ridgeway Information, which provides open-source intelligence for commercial clients, governments and the third sector. Talking to Tim Hubbard.
