We welcome back the author of the bestselling Pandora’s Jar as she returns to the world of Greek myth and, in her sparkling style, examines the role of the goddesses. We meet Athene, who sprang fully formed from her father’s head, and Artemis, goddess of hunting and protector of young girls (apart from those she decides she wants as a sacrifice). Expect sex and desire, long-suffering wives, dalliances, vicious revenge and sacrificial fire. Natalie is the author of novels including The Amber Fury, The Children of Jocasta, A Thousand Ships and Stone Blind. She presents BBC Radio 4’s Natalie Haynes Stands Up for The Classics and was awarded the Classical Association Prize for her work in bringing Classics to a wider audience.
