The acclaimed television historian journeys through time and place, as he explores the most impressive and characterful creations in world architecture from the sacked ancient city of Palmyra to the audacity of Chicago, subject of his latest book. His selection includes many of the world’s best-known buildings and some more surprising structures that have shaped world history.

Dan Cruickshank has made numerous history and culture programmes including Around the World in Eighty Treasures, Adventures in Architecture, and Under Fire: Culture and Conflict in Afghanistan and Iraq.
