TERMS & CONDITIONS

Ticket Information and Terms & Conditions of sale of tickets

  1. All events take place at the venue printed on your ticket on our website and on our online booking system. You will be contacted by email in advance of an event if the venue changes and/or the change will be posted at the Festival Marquee. Please check before you travel.
  2. Tickets are sold through a third-party box office, Ticketsource, both online (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) and by telephone (see 4 below for opening hours). There is a booking fee charged by Ticketsource which is the actual cost of running the booking system (not income for the Festival).
  3. The telephone booking number and online booking link can be found on each page of our printed programme and on our website.
  4. Telephone bookings can be made Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 7.30pm (excluding Bank Holidays). This costs an additional charge of £2.00 to cover the telephone service, the cost of printing & posting tickets and/or the cost of mobile phone tickets. This cost will not apply after 1st March 2024. Tickets can be posted only if the booking is more than 3 working days prior to an event. From 1st March 2024 this will cost £2.50
  5. Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged.
  6. If the Festival has to cancel an event, the price of the tickets will be refunded but the Festival shall have no liability for any other direct or indirect losses or costs which you may incur due to such cancellation.
  7. All ticket prices include VAT.
  8. Subject to availability, tickets may be on sale at the door of events from 30 minutes before the event start time and, during the September Festival at the Box Office in the Festival Marquee.
  9. All seats are unreserved.
  10. Accessibility: please see the Festival’s Accessibility information here.
  11. Children under 14 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult (over 18 years of age). We cannot accept responsibility for unaccompanied children. Children over 14 may attend alone but must be delivered and collected by a responsible adult and are not the responsibility of the Festival. Adults attending children’s events are expected to buy a ticket. Children under 2 and babes in arms who do not require a seat do not need a ticket.
  12. We reserve the right to alter the programme or substitute performers if circumstances dictate. Please check our website or follow us on Twitter @Budleighlitfest for programme change alerts.
  13. All events are an hour long unless otherwise stated.
  14. Books are available to buy after each event. Authors will sign copies of their books after each event either in the venue or at the Festival Bookshop in the marquee. An announcement will be made at each event as to where the signing will take place.
  15. Books featured at the Festival and those signed at earlier events will be on sale at Waterstones pop-up bookshop in the marquee. We request that you do not bring copies of books not purchased at the Festival for signature.
  16. Some events may be filmed or recorded. By buying a ticket you are giving your consent to be filmed or recorded as a member of the audience. Please let one of the Festival team know if you do not wish to be in a photograph or film.
  17. All details and prices are correct at time of going to press.
