Troy Story – A Thousand Ships

Date: Wednesday 18th September 2019
Venue: Public Hall
Time: 4pm
Tickets: £12 (Students £10)

We welcome back the stand-up comedian, Radio 4 broadcaster and classicist Natalie Haynes. She’ll bring the history of the Trojan War to life through the stories of the women embroiled in that legendary war and its terrible aftermath.

With her characteristic wit and sharp-eyed humour, she’ll consider the feud and the fatal decisions that started it – and the chain of events that followed causing devastating consequences from Mount Olympus to Mount Ida, from the citadel of Troy to the distant Greek islands, and across the oceans and sky in between.

But this time it’s from an all-female perspective, giving voice to the women, girls and goddesses who, for so long, have been silent.
